An Invitation from the NCBJ President
Please join us October 11-14 for the 2023 National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges Annual Meeting at the J.W. Marriott in Austin, Texas. We are looking forward to the largest gathering of the insolvency community for networking, education and fun!
The J.W. Marriott Downtown is a short distance from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World” for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues, and rock. Our conference will feature live music throughout, and several judges will host “Music-Arounds” for registered attendees to check out Austin’s entertainment hot spots.
Eat out in Austin and experience unique restaurants serving up Tex-Mex, BBQ, breakfast tacos, and more. From James Beard Award-winning eateries to the best dives in Austin, discover tons of places to eat. Registered attendees can sign up for one of our many “Dine-Arounds” to enjoy a special meal with colleagues. Watch your inbox this summer for information on special activities.
There’s truly something for everyone, including a gathering for Emerging Young Professionals and an All-Comers cocktail party hosted by ABI.
This year’s Conference is designed to provide a variety of high-quality educational programs for experienced and less experienced professionals alike. Judges will enjoy the chance to socialize with each other and members of the bar in informal discussions and plenary sessions. The Education Committee has planned engaging, insightful, and cutting-edge programs, including a fireside chat with Judge Barbara Houser (Ret.) (NDTX) and Natalie Jaresko, a managing director at EY-Parthenon, former Minister of Finance of Ukraine, and Executive Director of the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico. As usual, the Conference will provide opportunities to hear judges, academics and professionals address compelling issues that we are all likely to encounter in the future. Something of interest and importance awaits everyone.
Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in first-class programs sponsored by our affiliate friends, the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the American Bar Association (ABA), the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA), the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), plus the pre-conference International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and American College of Bankruptcy (ACB) sessions. This is truly the preeminent conference to renew acquaintances, establish new relationships, and further your insolvency acumen.
NEW THIS YEAR: The link to make your hotel reservation at the J.W. Marriott will be sent in your registration confirmation email and not posted on the conference website.
We look forward to seeing you in Austin and embracing this wonderful opportunity to be together with the insolvency community.
